It’s good to have raving fans, because we are sure fans of our customers. It’s customers like these and a great team that makes up Carousel Motors, that continue to build a reputation of being #1. Thank you!
Our salesperson, Ryan Galey, was outstanding! He was courteous, professional, and provided excellent customer service without being phony or pushy. Additionally, Harvey Ireland, the gentleman who handled our financial paperwork, was likewise courteous, professional, and efficient. My wife and I are very satisfied with the service we received and we absolutely love our new 2012 Volkswagen Passat. 10′s across the board for Ryan and Harvey of Carousel Motors, Iowa City!
- Robert, Owner of a new 2012 VW Passat
Sonny was the most trustworthy sales consultant I have ever dealt with when buying a vehicle. He was very easy to talk to and made my parents and I feel every comfortable right off the bat. I felt like he really cared about the experience being great for me – not just about selling me the car.
- Kendra, Owner of a new 2012 VW Tiguan
I love everyone at Carousel Motors…I would never buy a car anywhere else….ever.
- Rochelle Burnett, Owner of a new 2012 VW CC
Automobile Magazine compares the most popular compact crossovers in a car review article dated May 1. Automobile Magazine decided to gather the top selling crossovers, the newly designed Ford Escape and Honda CRV, as well as a new-to-the-market, Mazda CX-5.
At $29,165, the Mazda CX-5 was the least expensive of the three, and by the far, the most economical in gas efficiency. Writer for Automobile Magazine, Jason Cammisa, writes, “It boasts the best EPA fuel economy ratings, and in our rigorous testing (we drove like animals) used by far the least fuel. In fact, it beat the Ford by 30 percent and the Honda by fifteen.”.
Cammisa goes on to describe the vehicle as having a “richness to the vehicle that goes beyond the others” and “and the Mazda’s driving dynamics are, simply put, a whole class ahead of its rivals.”
We invite you to read the whole story here! When finished, schedule your test drive of the Mazda CX-5 today!
It’s Monday, and that means another classic car ad. Today’s is a recent one featuring the Audi R8. Why does this one qualify for the classic car ad category? Because as the ad says, the car is already a classic! Plus, it’s a great combination of bank-heist suspense, beautiful cars, and humor.
Well, it’s Monday, so that means yet another classic tv ad. Today we’re going to feature another ad from VW. In this case, it’s “Mr. Roboto” from Volkswagen.
As is the case with many VW ads, this one features a little bit of quirky humor. It showcases the insulation of the car: so powerful that it can overcome the deafening power of eight speakers blasting away a Styxx cassette.
Die-hard Arrested Development fans out there might recognize the driver. It’s the youngest of the Bluth brothers, Buster! In fact, during one episode of the show he re-enacts the commercial. You can see video of that here.
Volkswagen’s new generation of turbocharged “clean diesel” models (models named TDI) combine impressive fuel economy with the simplicity and durability of diesel engines. In addition, the TDI engines in both the Jetta sedan, SportWagen and the Touareg SUV are certified to meet tough government emission standards—known as “Tier 2 Bin 5”—same as the cleanest gasoline-electric hybrids.
The abundant low-end torque TDI engines—combined with Volkswagen’s sporty European handling—make Volkswagen’s three clean diesel models hands-down winners in the fun-to-drive department, which isn’t necessarily the case for our competitors hybrid models.
Because of their sturdier construction, it’s not uncommon for diesel engines to still be going strong after 250,000 miles with little more than regular maintenance (which is now complementary on all VW models for the first 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first).
With a 14.5-gallon fuel tank and EPA estimates of 41 mpg on the highway*, the Jetta TDI can go nearly 600 miles on a single fill-up. Of course, this also depends on your driving style and the type of roads you travel.
While gasoline and diesel prices fluctuate, TDI models’ fuel economy numbers mean you’re still likely to end up spending less at the pump compared to some hybrids.
It’s been a while since the super bowl and people are still talking about how the automaker ads stole the show. This got us to thinking about other great ads from the past. Starting today we’re going to share some of our favorite ads for the different marques that we carry. Some are old, some are foreign, but all are classics!
We’ve done every Carousel brand but Mazda so far, but I think this is one of the more iconic. The classic ad for this week is the very first commercial featuring Zoom-Zoom as the tagline. (Sorry for what looks like Spanish subtitles, but this was the only one we could find online!)
Focusing on Mazda’s fun-to-drive heritage, this ad launched the idea that there was a little Zoom Zoom in every car they make, from Miata to minivan. It was true then and it’s still true now. Stop on by for a test drive and get a taste of Mazda’s Zoom-Zoom today!

As a 2011 Magna Society award winner, Carousel Motors has been recognized as one of the 106 top Audi dealerships in the United States and a leader in a year that saw the premium car brand achieve record nationwide sales of 117,561 vehicles.
“We are the only dealer in North America who has received this award for the tenth time. We’ve had considerable competition as the qualifying dealers has gone from 20 to 106. The award recognizes excellence for both our people and our processes. I’m so proud of our staff for their consistency of a high standard of excellence.” say Pat Lind, General Manager of Carousel Motors.
The Magna Society acknowledges Audi dealers that deliver exceptional customer service, maintain strong sales and demonstrate excellence in all areas of business. This honor is bestowed upon dealerships that exemplify the attention to detail and progressive attributes that distinguish the Audi brand.

Are you ready for $5 per gallon gasoline? We sure are. While we’re not certain it will get that high, there’s no denying that over the long run gas is not going to be cheap. Knowing this, now is the perfect time to change into a more fuel efficient vehicle. Not only will upping your MPGs make you green, you’ll save some green too.

We made a quick review of swapping from a 2010 Toyota RAV4 to a Jetta, and that will save you nearly $40* per month. You can go even farther than that, saving $75/month with either a TDI Jetta or a Sky-Active Mazda3.
Keep in mind, that was calculated with $3.79 gas and only 15,000 miles per year. If you drive more than that or more on the highway, you could save even more!
Go ahead, play around that website and see how much you could save and let us know how much you will be saving with your new car!
